The Quietness of Gunung Pasang (Pasang Mount)

This time, I was invited by an amateur photographer community in Jember to learn how to photograph a beautiful lady with clean river and green mountain scenery as the background.

Gunung Pasang in Sukorambi, Jember Regency. It belongs to national plantation in which they responsible to cultivate the forest. It is also the same route to Tancak Fall. Usually, on Saturdays and Sundays, this spot is taken by nature lovers going hiking and camping near the fall.

We gathered at the chairman of the community’s house, and started our trip to the Gunung Pasang. The first thing to do was leaving the town to the village around the base. The good road slowly changed into rough chuckhole roads, just like in plateaus. Terracing fields on the base draws nice scenery. We also crossed a wooden bridge which connects two villages. The two of them were separated by a rocky clean wide river. As we entered the residences of the plantation, Bougainville in various colors welcomed our coming.

The breezy air on the mountain made me feel comfortable. Finally, we reached around the national plantation office. The model and the photographers headed down to the river. The model sat nicely on a quite big stone, while smiling beautifully. Then the photographers looked for the best angles to shoot and directed her how to pose.

On the same time when they did their business, I took myself out of the group to enjoy the beautiful scenery around. I sought for perfect angles to take pictures of the mountain and some other animals.

It was quite long for the photographers to take pictures of the model. I, finally, joined them to learn some techniques in photography from them. It was like hitting down two birds with one stone.  I got not only nice scenery, but also new friends as well as new photography techniques. It’s a  short experience full of learning and knowledge.

  1. Beautiful pictures. What a pretty place. Amazing g all the different parts of the world.
I have been doing some traveling as we’ll. but I always feel like my pictures don’t do the actual scenery justice. I’m just a hobbier. Not a professional or anything. Just enjoy documenting everything with a picture.
